Reiki

Pronounced “ray – key”: A healing technique based on the principle that the therapist can channel energy into the patient by means of touch, to activate the natural healing processes of the patient's body and restore physical and emotional well-being. Reiki is believed to be first developed and practiced by Tibetan monks several thousand years ago; developed as we know it today by Dr. Mikao Usui, from Japan.

How does it work?
I use a gentle hands-on technique on or above the client’s body. The energy is channeled to remove blocks and restore balance in the physical, mental, emotional and spiritual components of your being.

What can Reiki heal?
Reiki energy aids in healing and alleviating many health issues. It will add to the benefits of any medical treatment and reduce negative side effects of chemotherapy, medications, and surgery.

Reiki also assists in profound healing for emotional trauma. Reiki treatments can help ease the emotional process of major life changes. Below are some (but not limited to) the physical and emotional issues that Reiki energy can assist with.

Physical
• Morning sickness
• Arthritis
• Chronic pain
• Joint pain
• Sciatica
• Migraines, sinuses
• Post surgery

Emotional and Spiritual
• Depression, anxiety
• PTSD
• Stress
• Insomnia
• Emotional balance
• Spiritual or personal development

*Please note: chronic illnesses, extreme cases of repeated traumas, disorders, etc., often require on-going treatment sessions over a period of time to establish a full clearing.

What to Expect

What can I expect from a Reiki treatment?
A Reiki session lasts about 90 minutes.

Reiki is performed while the client is fully clothed on a massage table. I will gently place my hands on or above the client’s body to facilitate the flow of Reiki life-force energy. I will use several healing modalities during the session such as crystal healing, sound therapy, Qi gong and/or aromatherapy.

What can I expect to feel during a Reiki session?
Every person has a unique experience during a Reiki treatment. Most clients report feeling extremely relaxed, at peace, and safe.

It is common for individuals to experience a range of emotions as stored negative energy is healed and released from the body and aura; this may include yawning, giggling or crying.

Physically, clients have reported feeling ‘hot’ or ‘cold’ energy from my hands. As the body relaxes and shifts back into its natural state of health and vitality it is common for recipients to experience muscle twitching, involuntary muscle jerks or tingling sensations. As any old energy is released, you may experience feeling chilly, as well.

Some clients have also reported entering a dream-like state and report seeing loved ones, animals or having journeys to new or familiar places.

What can I expect after a Reiki treatment?
In most cases, an individual will feel relaxed and uplifted by a Reiki treatment. However, sometimes a person will have what is called a healing crisis. As a person’s vibration goes up, toxins that have been stored in the body will be released into the blood stream to be filtered by the liver and kidneys and removed from the system. When this happens, sometimes a person can get a headache or stomach ache or feel weak. If this happens, it is a good idea to drink more water, eat lighter meals and get more rest. The body is cleansing as part of the healing process so this is a good sign.

NOTE: When a client participates in their healing process with intention and conscious change, Reiki treatments will facilitate profound levels of healing.

Distant Reiki

What to Expect for a Distant Healing

During a Distant Reiki Session, most people prefer to lay down or meditate. With people and animals, they might lay down or become thirsty. I will go through the energy field first, clearing out and impurities, then begin reiki.

After the reiki session is completed (which is typically about 30-45 min long), I will email a detailed report on what came up during the session for you.
